Sunday Worship

January 19, 2025

We worship at 10:00 am at Kennicott Park (4434 S. Lake Park Ave.). Masks are optional. We offer Kid City children’s ministry for nursery – 5th grade; they are also welcome to remain in the service.

Children are essential participants in the life of our church. They are not the future of the church, they are the church today! Parents and caregivers can expect children’s classes for Pre-K – 5th grade and nursery for the little ones during the sermon portion of the service. On the first Sunday of each month our children remain in the worship service and there will be a children’s message. 6th-12th grade youth also participate in a weekly gathering on Sunday evenings at our Ministry Center. Please email Pete Blodgett, Director of Discipleship for Children and Youth with any questions or for more information.

Immigrant Resettlement Info Session | Monday, January 27; 7:00-7:45 pm
World Relief Chicago has been given the responsibility of immediately settling 16 Latin American families with refugee status in the Hyde Park and Bronzeville neighborhoods. World Relief has been networking with South Side churches (like our friends at Concord Missionary Baptist in Woodlawn) and community organizations (like our long-time partner, Bright Star Community Outreach) and they have asked local churches to assist in the resettlement process.

World Relief will provide services for the families, but they will benefit greatly from
volunteer support as they connect with their new community. Volunteers can help them practice English, provide rides to some of their initial appointments and health care appointments, etc. This is an opportunity for us to live out what Jesus called the “second commandment” which is to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

To learn more about this opportunity to love our neighbors, please email Pastor Kevin and attend the upcoming 45-minute Zoom info session.
