We worship at 10:00 am at Kennicott Park (4434 S. Lake Park Ave.) or online. Masks are optional. We offer Kid City children’s ministry for Pre-K – 5th grade; they are also welcome to remain in the service.
Children are essential participants in the life of our church. They are not the future of the church, they are the church today! Parents and caregivers can expect children’s classes for Pre-K – 5th grade during the sermon portion of the service. On the first Sunday of each month our children remain in the worship service and there will be a children’s message. Middle School children also participate in a weekly discipleship class on Sunday evenings at our Ministry Center. Please email Pete Blodgett, Director of Family, Youth, and Children Ministries with any questions for or more information.
Newcomers Lunch | Sunday, September 25; after service
If you’re newer to the church (or haven’t been to a Newcomers Lunch yet) we’d love to have you join us for lunch. It’s an opportunity to get to know some of the staff and ask any questions you might have.
Faith and Race Workshop | Friday, September 23 – Sunday, September 25
Each year we set aside a weekend to consider the intersection of our faith in Jesus Christ and the system of race which impacts each of us. This year our focus was the critical role played by Bronzeville’s African American churches over the generations.

3rd Annual Trunk-or-Treat | Sunday, October 30; 3:00-5:00 pm
We would love for all of our kids to get dressed up in their costumes and come out for some fun and treats! To make this happen, we need ALL of New Community to show up and show our kids some love! Instead of trick-or-treating house to house, our kids will be trunk-or-treating car to car in the parking lot just north of the Ministry Center.
We need people to show up ready to pass out treats to our kids as they come to your car. Don’t have a car? We’ll make sure we have a few tables on hand. Also, you’re HIGHLY encouraged to come in costume and decorate your car/table…there will even be a prize for the best decorated car! If you’re able to pass out treats, please email Pete at so we can include you in our plans.

Hospitality Team Members Needed
The Hospitality Team welcomes each person who joins us on Sundays while using iPads and a laptop to check people in and give them their name tag. As the summer season kicks off, we need five more people to serve with our team. Please email Candice to learn more.
Kid City – Teachers Needed
As Kid City continues to grow, we will need to transition back to multiple classes for our different age groups. To be able to do this, we are in need of additional teachers who can lead these classes. If you are interested, please contact Pete Blodgett for more details.
